This installation is the result of the extraordinary creativity of the pupils from 1st to 5th grade of the Robert Service School in Dawson City in the Yukon Territory in Canada.
I had the privilege to assist each class with 2 hours workshop. To experience how all the talented kids became alchemists for the occasion was a true pleasure. They created dozens of small size sculptures made out of disposable materials claimed from the local recycling depot and from their family households.
The magic was to transform throwaways into precious and highly interesting individual objects that eventually blended into a large size work through collaboration. Between others the final achievement was to stimulate, amaze and challenge the imagination, the perception and the awareness of the viewers.
